East Jackson Man Arrested for Guns, Marijuana & Drug Paraphernalia

JACKSON, Tenn — Captain Julian Wiser says the Jackson Police Department SWAT Team arrested a man on North Royal St. At 8:00 A.M. Tuesday. Wiser says the Metro Narcotics Unit found a felony amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and three firearms. Shawna Adams lives next door and she says children were inside the house when the suspect was arrested. “When I stuck my head out the door I saw my neighbor, who’s a very sweet person,” Adams said. “She had her two month old granddaughter in her arms.” Captain Wiser says the suspect was also arrested on drug dealing charges. “She gave me the baby and I came back in and looked after the baby while they were over there, doing whatever they had to do,” Adams said. One neighbor says the drug bust happened a little too close to home. “I’m glad it didn’t happen worse than its supposed to cause we have children out here that get on the bus at eight, the time it happened,” Keir Smith said. According to Adams the neighborhood is tight knit and they look out for each other; but now she’s concerned about her family’s safety. “I have a 15-year-old daughter and I don’t want her to be, or us for that matter to be caught up in any kind of situations that’s going to put any of us in danger,” Adams said. Police have not released the suspects name or any of the other charges he faces, on top of intent to distribute drugs. Police say the case is still under investigation.
