Tennessee Highway Safety Office promotes ‘Safe on Seventy’ campaign
JACKSON, Tenn. — This holiday weekend, motorists will see an increase in traffic enforcement along US Highway 70.
Tennessee Highway Patrol will be out enforcing the “Safe on Seventy” campaign from July 3-6.
The campaign is aimed at reducing fatalities and accidents. Motorists are urged to wear their seatbelts, don’t drink and drive, don’t drive drowsy and avoid distracted driving.
“Trooper and local law enforcement agencies will be patrolling Highway 70 looking for violations such as distracted driving, speeding, aggressive driving, seat belt usage and trying to remove impaired drivers from Highway 70,” said Sgt. Caleb Cooper, THP.
Participating agencies will also increase seat belt enforcement and commercial vehicle safety.
