USJ hosts annual summer dance clinic

JACKSON, Tenn. — Earlier Monday, we visited the University School of Jackson Bruinettes Dance Team, who are teaching young girls the importance of stepping out of their comfort zone.

USJ is hosting their 2nd annual Little Bruinettes and Junior Bruinettes Summer Dance Clinic from Monday-Thursday. Participants ages 4 to 10 will learn fun dance routines and basic dance techniques.

“We are split in three or four groups and we teach separate dances so each group gets a different one–that’s something. We will also perform on the last day as another dance everybody will perform,” said Kate Payne, senior at USJ.

On the last day, dancers will get to showcase what they have learned in front of an audience.
