TCAT nursing students host food drive in Haywood County
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — Local nursing students are gathering for an annual food drive.
The practical nursing students at TCAT Jackson’s Brownsville/Haywood extension campus hosted a summer food drive Thursday morning for the residents in Haywood County.
According to Feeding America, approximately 20% of Haywood County residents, including Brownsville, are food insecure, meaning they lack consistent access to enough food for an active and healthy life.
“They don’t necessarily have to wait until the food drive to make donations. You know the pantry, I believe, is open everyday. Kids, you know, everybody eats every day. And this is not just a one time battle, this is an everyday battle. So, the more and more we can donate, the better off everybody will be,” said Frank Cole, nursing student.
You can drop your donations off at any time at the TCAT Jackson’s Brownsville/Haywood extension campus.
