Guest speaker talks downtown development during Jackson Rotary Club meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — Residents gathered at First United Methodist Church for the Jackson Rotary Club’s weekly meeting.
Wednesday, they discussed the downtown area and ways to improve overall visitor experiences.
They brought up improving parking options, better signage, wayfinding, and art installations.
We spoke with the Jackson Downtown Development Director Beth Ann Simpson about bring more food options to downtown.
“The other thing I talked about to do is kind of preparing for our food based businesses. We got some pretty great downtown businesses but it’s really difficult for a new restaurant to come in and build out a full kitchen and start a restaurant. Having a program that helps build our food based businesses for that next step, kind of like our incubator space at theLOCAL really feels like a next step too,” said Simpson.
Downtown Jackson has remained a core part of the community, and Jackson Rotary encourages business owners to locate downtown.
