Back-to-school giveaway, cookout to kick off July 26 in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — With school beginning in just a few short weeks, we have a school supply giveaway that you can attend with your scholar.
The Community Cookout and Back to School Supply Giveaway will be hosted by the Theta Iota chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated and the Jackson-Madison County School System.
This event will take place on Saturday, July 26 at the JCM Field House located on 332 Lane Ave in Jackson.
This event will begin at noon, rain or shine, with various activities for kids to participate in.
There will be rock climbing, bouncers, an obstacle course, popcorn, face painting, balloon making, cotton candy and a game truck.
They will also be giving away free school supplies and backpacks to students from grades K-8.
“We’re going to provide bags, as well as wristbands and tickets for them to be able to enjoy the festivities. And by giving away free school supplies, we wanted to make sure the youth have what they need to be successful in this school year,” said Anthony Bell, basileus.
Free food will be given away from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
