Manhunt still underway for quadruple homicide suspect

In continuing coverage following a manhunt here in Tennessee, here is the latest.

On Friday, August 1, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation held a press conference where they announced they have located the missing vehicle believed to be driven by their quadruple homicide suspect, Austin Drummond.

Located on a blocked off portion on MCO Road, Drummond had appeared to be living out of his vehicle.

When law enforcement arrived on scene, he fled on foot.

The search continued throughout the wooded area as law enforcement officers attempted to apprehend Drummond.

Less than a mile away, helicopters could be seen flying over Campbell Oaks Apartments.

“Law enforcement has put out notification to those in that area to lock their doors and be alert and they will notice a large police presence in that area,” said David Rausch, Director, TBI.

TBI took to social media Saturday to request public assistance for any footage you may have near Burnt Mill Road in Dyer county that may contain Drummond or this truck.

With tips coming in from across the region, law enforcement says it’s only a matter of time until Drummond is in custody, but they urge the community to be safe in the meantime.

“We do need the community to be very careful. We do not need them to try to approach this person. We do need your help,” said Danny Goodman Jr., District Attorney General, District 29.

The manhunt has been a combined effort from TBI, the US Marshals Service, Lake, Dyer, and Madison County Sheriff’s Offices, and the Jackson Police Department.

The search continues for any information that could be useful for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and other agencies to bring this suspect in.

Rausch assures the public that that Drummond is not a threat to public safety as the quadruple homicide victims seem to have been specifically targeted.

If you have any information that could lead to Drummond’s arrest, dial 911 or the TBI hotline at 1-800-TBI-find.
