Community gathers for Humboldt PD’s National Night Out event

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — The Humboldt community came together for an evening of fun with first responders. The Humboldt Police Department held their National Night Out.

There was music, free food, a movie in the park, first responder vehicles and more. Leaders with the Humboldt Police Department say it’s an opportunity to come.

“Our main goal is to have a partnership with the community where they feel like they can trust us and we trust them back and forth. It’s a give take relationship where we are here for them, anything they need, call us and we will come,” said Chief Kenny Rich, Humboldt Police Department.

“Also we’re open to ideas, so if there’s anybody in the community that has an idea for an event that’s community related, we’re more than willing to meet with you and kinda hash it out and maybe put something else together for the community,” said Lt. Joshua Bomber, Humboldt Police Department.

In addition to the Humboldt Police Department, fire department, rescue squad and air EVAC were also present. Officers say several businesses in the area helped to make this night possible.
