Few Thursday Pop Ups, Warm and Dry Weather Expected this Weekend!

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

July was the 22nd hottest month on record in West Tennessee and was the 10th hottest July as well. After a very hot July, August started out a bit cooler but we have now warmed back up to average and temperatures will continue to climb as we head into the upcoming weekend. Above average temperatures are expected for the next 7 days. It will not be as humid as it was in July so the heat index will only top out around 100°. There are a few pop ups trying to get going, but overall, rain chances are not great over the next 7 days as well. August is typically our driest month so it is not that abnormal to go a couple weeks without any measurable rainfall. Catch the full forecast details coming up here.

Highs will stay in the mid 90s on Friday and through the weekend. Chances for rain the next 3 days are very slim so make some outdoor plans. There will be better chances for rain next week but chances are not greater than 30% any day over the next 10 days. If you are needing an extended dry spell to get some projects done, this is looking like a pretty good time to get them done! Catch the latest forecast information coming up here.

THIS WEEK:

Mostly sunny skies stuck around for Wednesday and Thursday this week. Highs reached the mid 90s 90s both days and there were a few showers east of Jackson but most of us missed out again. The winds were light and came out of the east-southeast both days and that kept the humidity down a bit. Morning lows flirted around the 70° during the middle of the week and will stay there tonight. The weather was overall pretty nice in the middle of the week but we are starting to get to the point where drought concerns are going to be mentioned if we do not get some rain soon.

The nice weather is expected to continue for our Friday across West Tennessee as well. Highs may be a bit warmer on Friday than they were in the middle of the week. Highs will reach the low to mid 90s but mostly sunny skies are likely during the afternoon and evening hours. Chances for rain appear to be really low on Friday and will remain low into the upcoming weekend. Friday night lows will drop down to around 70° to kick off the weekend.

THIS WEEKEND:

Another really nice weekend looks to be on tap for West Tennessee. Rain chances appear to be below 20% as of now. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy at times. The winds will shift from the east to the south as the weekend goes on. That may increase the humidity a little bit and help warm temperatures back into the mid 90s for some of us. It will NOT be hot enough for an extreme heat warning and a heat advisory also appears unlikely at this time. Take advantage of the weather this weekend because it will be nice and warm, but not too hot and humid and it appears we will not be encountering any storms either.
