John Rose shares plans for Tennessee amid political campaign for governor
JACKSON, Tenn. — After senator Marsha Blackburn announced she’s running for governor this week, candidate John Rose shared his plans.
Tennessee representative for the 6th district John Rose spoke about where he wants to see Tennessee progress and some challenges he hopes to fix along the way.
“I think the big issue here is how do we retain the best of Tennessee?” Rose asked. “How are we responding to the challenges that that growth creates and that the new era, if you will, creates allows us to keep Tennessee the state that we all love? And the state that folks are flocking to all around the country.”
Rose shares that Tennessee has low taxes, low debt, and has a great social and cultural environment.
However, he says there are some things the state can do better. If governor, he hopes to change these challenges.
“They are: Making our schools perform like we need them to, having the infrastructure that we need as a state, having access to health care all across our state, having access to energy and electricity for our citizens and for businesses, growing the economy, developing the economy through economic development,” said Rose.
Rose is a small business owner, a farmer, husband and father. He describes himself as a proud christian and conservative outsider.
He says his background in agriculture and law along with his time serving as a representative will help accomplish these challenges.
“I have a depth of experience there that’s what I’ve spent most of my life doing is leading organizations and building businesses from the stage of an idea, all the way to a successful enterprise with scores of employees,” said Rose.
Rose says this is not just an opportunity for him; Tennessee means the world to him as an 8th generation Tennessean.
“I’m not looking for another trophy to put on my mantel, I’m looking for the opportunity to serve Tennesseans. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get started on day one,” said Rose.
We asked to reach out to Marsha Blackburn for details on her plans for the state, however, she was unavailable at the time for an interview.
