Muddy Paws Dog Wash opens as Jackson’s first self-serve dog washing salon

Muddy Paws Dog Wash Opens As Jackson’s First Self-Serve Dog Washing Salon

Jackson, TN (August 11, 2025) – Muddy Paws Dog Wash, the first and only self-service dog washing salon located in Jackson, has officially opened its doors as of Saturday, Aug. 9, offering dog owners a convenient, affordable alternative to traditional grooming.

Muddy Paws is a fully equipped self-service dog washing station, charging $15 for a 15-minute bath. Included in the price, guests have access to an elevated tub station with hypoallergenic and plant-based shampoo and conditioner, flea-fighting shampoo, towels, aprons, professional blow dryers, and treats. The salon operates on a walk-in basis and does not require booking, offering dog owners the convenience of washing their pets whenever it fits their schedule. The salon, located on North Star Drive in North Jackson, is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Muddy Paws began as a solution to a problem. As local dog owners themselves, the Jackson couple behind the business saw firsthand the hassle of bathing dogs at home. Clogged drains, sore backs, and muddy messes. Wanting something better, they set out to create a self-serve solution that offers both convenience and a spa-like experience for pets and the community.

“We were two dog-lovers who married each other. Before we discovered dog washing stations, I washed our dogs in the backyard with a water hose to prevent getting our bathroom dirty and clogging our drains. I was bent over, my back was hurting, and the grass would get directly on them right after I finished washing them,” Matt Nelson, Co-Owner of Muddy Paws, said. “We

used a self-service dog wash a year ago and love it. We drove 45 minutes every couple of weeks to wash our dogs. We realized that if we need it, other people need it, so why shouldn’t we be the ones who bring it to the community?”

Muddy Paws Dog Wash aims to add value to Jackson by making dog washing easier and more affordable.
