Rain Chances Return in the Middle of the Week to West Tennessee!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

We are going to be dry and hot this evening but changes in the weather are coming on Tuesday and sticking around for a few days. Two different frontal systems will try to impact our weather this week and bring rain and storm chances back to West Tennessee. Chances start on Tuesday but will be increasing as we head deeper into the work week. The severe weather threat looks low but thunderstorms and heavy rain showers seem likely to develop for many of us. Catch the latest on the storm threat as well as a look into if the storms will be hanging around this weekend; all coming up right here.

THIS WEEK:
The weather was nice really to kick off the work week in West Tennessee on Monday. Highs reached the low 90s and we saw mostly sunny skies. Rain showers were no where to be found but will be popping back up for some of us on Tuesday and for most of us during the middle of the week. There could be a few showers tonight near the Tennessee River but most of us will stay dry. Skies will be partly cloudy tonight and the winds will be calm in general. Overnight lows will fall down to the low 70s to kick off our Tuesday.

Rain chances return on Tuesday as a cold front will be getting a little closer before drifting through into the day on Wednesday. Chances for some pop up showers and storms on Tuesday will be 30% and start around noon and linger into the evening hours. A couple of gusty wind storms will be possible but the severe weather threat appears to be quite low. Some brief heavy rain and lightning will impact some of us. Expect partly cloudy skies and a light breeze out of the south. Highs will still reach the low 90s with overnight lows again falling down to the low 70s.

The best chance for rain this week is coming in on Wednesday. Not everyone is going to see rain as chances are currently at 40%. Some storms will mix in with the rain showers but lightning and some increased winds again appear to be the main threat. The showers chances will be greatest in the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will reach the low 90s and the winds will vary in direction as a front will move through the area. Expect partly cloudy skies and overnight lows will drop down to around 70°.

Another round of showers and storms are expected to develop again on Thursday for areas across West Tennessee. As of now, chances are 30% as the second of two fronts will drift just to the north of the Mid South allowing enough instability for some pop up to develop again. The winds will come out of the west and highs will make it up to around 90°. Skies will be partly cloudy again and overnight lows will fall down to the low 70s. Most of us will pick up some showers between Tuesday and Thursday but there will be a few people who will miss out due to the nature of the pop up type storms.
Friday things will begin to dry out but there still could be a few showers on Friday depending on how fast the cold front clears out during the day. Expect mostly sunny skies and the winds to return to the southwest in the afternoon. Highs will start to climb up a bit and reach the low to maybe mid 90s in the afternoon. Chances for rain on Friday is only 20% but chances will be even lower for the upcoming weekend. Friday night lows will fall down to the low to mid 70s to kick off our weekend.

THIS WEEKEND:
Another hot and mostly dry weekend appears to be on tap for us in West Tennessee. Highs will reach the mid 90s and even some upper 90s will be possible on Sunday for some of us. Rain chances are low this weekend with Sunday maybe bringing a little better chance for rain that Saturday. Expect a mostly sunny weekend and the winds will be light and come out of the southwest for the most part. The heat index could be over 100° this weekend as the southwest winds will be increasing the humidity a bit as the weekend goes on. A heat advisory looks possible at this time. We still have over 5 weeks of summer to go so expect the hot weather to linger into next week!
