35th Annual African Street Festival set for Labor Day weekend

JACKSON, Tenn. — An annual celebration is set to return to the Hub City.

The 35th Annual African Street Festival will take place on Labor Day weekend, August 29-31.

The festivities will be based at T.R. White Sportsplex, located at 304 North Hays Avenue in Jackson.

The free event is presented by The Society for African American Cultural Awareness (SAACA).

Each year, attendees are treated to a variety of entertainment, activities and cultural experiences, including live music, performances, vendors, and much more.

According to SAACA’s website, the nonprofit organization was founded in 1989, and is “dedicated to enhancing the level of cultural awareness in Jackson-Madison County and the surrounding areas in Tennessee.”
