Kirby Webb Jackson Tn Obituary

Kirby Smith Webb, 78, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025.

Born on May 22, 1947, Kirby was the son of the late Dr. Claude Raymond Webb and Mrs. Martha Gowen Webb of Ripley, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Gowen Webb of Memphis and infant twin sons.

Kirby is survived by his loving wife, Leta Webb; daughter, Kristin Webb Alvey and Jared of Jackson; son, William Morris Webb and Abbey of Humboldt; stepson Jerrod Bettie; stepdaughter Erin Bettie; and his beloved grandsons, Benjamin Robert Alvey, Samuel James Alvey, and Rowan Lane Webb, who were the pride of his life. He also leaves behind his brothers, John Hayne Webb and Sally of Senatobia, Mississippi and Claude Raymond Webb Jr. and Martha of Ripley, Tennessee, sister-in-law Jo Webb of Memphis, Tennessee, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will remember him for his kind heart and love for the outdoors.

Kirby was a life-long member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #45. He also carried many lifelong friends from Northside Church, Englewood Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church and Faithwalk of Jackson. He most recently was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Camden, Tennessee.

A man who valued family, Kirby lived with integrity, generosity, and quiet strength. His life was a testament to faith, loyalty and love.

Kirby approached every task in life with dedication and purpose, believing that hard work was both a duty and a privilege. Whether in his career, caring for his family, or helping a neighbor, he gave his full effort without seeking recognition. His commitment and perseverance set an example that continues to inspire those who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at George A. Smith & Sons North Chapel in Jackson, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with burial immediately afterwards at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Three Way, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Kirby’s honor.
