Alabama names Ty Simpson starting quarterback
Westview alumni Ty Simpson has been named the starting
quarterback for the Alabama Crimson tide.
He has been the backup for the last two seasons and now
in his fourth year he beat out Keelon Russell and Austin Mack.
The decision was made by Kalen Deboer Monday night in a meeting.
Here is what Ty Simpson had to say. “My journey is like no other
and I think it meant a lot to the guys as well, knowing that I’ve
had opportunities to leave and I didnt because I want to be here
and I want to be with my guys.So I’m very excited for the opportunity
I’ve been given.” We will get our first look at him on Saturday
August 30th as Alabama opens the season on the road at
Florida state.
