Heat Advisories Out for Some, Remaining Hot into Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
The heat index is back up to 105° for many of us today and will remain in that range through the weekend. Highs will reach at least the upper 90s the next few days and some 100-101°s will also show up for most of us. It is NOT overly humid so Extreme Heat Warnings seem unlikely at this time. Some heat advisories are out today and Saturday and will likely be extended through Tuesday of next week. The next cold front is coming in the middle of next week and will bring some cooler weather and some showers/storms with it as well. Catch the latest on the heat as well as the latest on next week’s cold front coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
Friday things began to dry out but there still was a few showers on Friday with most of them being southeast of Madison county. We will be dry after the sunsets and into Saturday morning. Friday brought mostly sunny skies and the winds returned to the southwest in the afternoon but were light and will be calm overnight. Highs climbed up a bit and reached the mid to upper 90s in the afternoon and evening hours. Chances for rain on Friday were 10% but chances will be even lower for the upcoming weekend. Friday night lows will fall down to the low to mid 70s to kick off our weekend.

THIS WEEKEND:
Another hot and mostly dry weekend appears to be on tap for us in West Tennessee. Highs will reach the mid to upper 90s and even some low 100s will be possible on Sunday for some of us. Rain chances are low this weekend with Sunday maybe bringing a little better chance for rain that Saturday. Expect a mostly sunny weekend and the winds will be light and come out of the southwest for the most part. The heat index could be over 105° this weekend as the southwest winds will be increasing the humidity a bit as the weekend goes on. A heat advisory has been issued for some of us and will be extended through the weekend into next week. We still have over 5 weeks of summer to go so expect the hot weather to linger into next week!

NEXT WEEK:
Very hot weather is expected to continue into next week across West Tennessee. Highs will be around 100° for both Monday and Tuesday. The humidity will be low but we still could see a heat index over 105° at times so expect a heat advisory to be issued for many of us. An extreme heat warning seems unlikely though at this time as heat indices are not expected to be over 110° for any of us. We will also see mostly sunny skies to start the week. Chances for rain on Monday and Tuesday will be low with Tuesday brining a little better shot at a few isolated showers or storms. The winds will come out of the north all week long.

The next cold front is expected to move through on Wednesday or Thursday. As the front passes, some showers and storms seem likely as well as a 10° cooldown with it. Skies will be partly cloudy in the middle of the week but the winds will stay out of the north. Highs will still reach the mid 90s on Wednesday but will cool down to around 90° for both Thursday and Friday next week. Morning lows will even drop into the 60s by Friday morning. Next weekend will be cooler than this upcoming for sure.
