Heat Advisory Extended Through Tuesday

WBBJ 7 Forecast Update

As temperatures start to climb toward triple digits, we provide the latest forecast details coming up right here.

Monday:

Temperatures will climb up to 100 degrees a couple days this week. Monday is the first of those. Futurecast is hinting at temperatures getting up to 100 degrees in Memphis by 1:00 PM, so likely most of West Tennessee will see some triple digit temperatures by 3:00.

Sun Heat

Tuesday:

Another, maybe even hotter, day with temperatures possibly getting up to 101 degrees by the afternoon. Showers will attempt to build into the region from the northwest, but models are suggesting that the rain will dissipate before reaching the Mississippi River around 3:00 PM Tuesday. Heat index values on Tuesday could get up to 111 degrees, which could prompt an Extreme Heat Warning.

Sun Heat

Wednesday and Thursday:

We’ll see some relief as a cold front makes its way across the plains over the first half of the week. Temperatures will get knocked down from low-100s to the low-90s, which doesn’t sound like much, but it’ll be enough to feel. As the front passes, a chance for scattered showers and storms along the front will be present both on Wednesday and Thursday. These showers will likely be smaller in size, but the rainfall could get heavy during these pop-ups.

Friday:

We return to a normal August day as temperatures remain in the low-90s with mostly sunny skies. It’ll be hot and humid, but the weather will be calm leading up to the first football games of the year.
