Larry Singleton Jackson Tn Obituary

Larry Joe Singleton, 76, of Beech Bluff, TN, passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 29, 1949, in Humboldt, TN, to the late Omer Earl (Jack) and Hershey Pusser Singleton.

Larry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, completing two tours in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to protecting his community with the Jackson Fire Department, retiring with the rank of Captain.

A man of steadfast faith, Larry was a member of Beech Bluff Baptist Church. His family treasures the memory that, even after his dementia diagnosis, he never once forgot to bow his head and bless his food at every meal.

On August 28, 1969, Larry married the love of his life, Margaret Crawford. Together they shared nearly 56 years of devotion and built a family rooted in love and faith. His son and grandson were his pride and joy, and time spent with them brought him his greatest happiness.

Larry also found joy in woodworking, gardening, and tending to his beloved little blue tractor. His fondness for the color blue became a family trademark, as he and Margaret were known for having the “only blue house in Beech Bluff.”

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Crawford Singleton; his son, Mark Singleton (Katrina); his grandson, Gabriel Singleton (girlfriend, Coriana Santos); his sister, Shirley Singleton; his brothers, Ricky Pusser and Tim Pusser (Sonya); his sisters-in-law, Pat Terrell (Jimmie) and Jane Pearson (Jimmy); as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Beech Bluff Baptist Church, 4554 Beech Bluff Rd. Burial will follow in Beech Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, August 22, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:00–11:00 a.m., all at Beech Bluff Baptist Church.

Larry will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, Marine, firefighter, and faithful servant of the Lord. His legacy of love, service, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
