‘Drag Race’ All Star winner to headline Jackson Pride event
JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson TN Pride’s annual LGBTQ+ celebration is returning to the Carl Perkins Civic Center on Saturday, September 27.
As in recent years, the celebration is divided into two separate events.
The daytime celebration — an all-ages event open to the public — will feature live music, a DJ, food trucks, and a wide variety of local vendors. It will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Civic Center. According to Jackson TN Pride’s website, admission is $1 or a donation of your choosing.
Later that evening, doors will open at 6 p.m. for “Pride After Dark” — an 18 and up ticketed event featuring a drag show, drinks by Buzzin’ and Bubbly Bartending, and a DJ.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” Season 9 winner Angeria Paris VanMichaels has been announced as the headliner for the Pride After Dark show. Described as “The Southern Belle from ATL,” VanMichaels first appeared on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 14 and finished as a finalist, and later returned to the show’s All Stars franchise and claimed the crown.
VanMichaels will be joined by other drag entertainers, with the show kicking off at 8 p.m.
Tickets for Pride After Dark go on sale Friday, August 29, on Eventbrite. Visit Jackson TN Pride’s website or Facebook page for the latest updates.
