THP to begin traffic enforcement campaign on Highway 22 Friday
JACKSON, Tenn. — Labor Day Weekend is almost here and the Tennessee Highway Patrol is stepping up their game to keep travelers safe.
On Friday, August 29, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and partnering law enforcement agencies, will be conducting the “Don’t Let it be you on Highway 22” traffic enforcement campaign.
Officers, deputies, and troopers will be conducting traffic enforcement along Highway 22 from the Kentucky state line to the Mississippi state line in an effort to have a safe start to the holiday weekend.
“Obey the speed limit, obey the child restraint laws and the seatbelt laws. We want to make sure that you’re restrained in the event of a car crash — that we keep you inside that vehicle. The other thing is, obviously, don’t drive impaired. Try to limit those distractions while you’re inside the vehicle,” said Sgt. Charles Childers with THP.
Funding for this law enforcement operation is provided through a grant with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
