DAR Sponsors Annual Bell Ringing on September 18, 2025

Constitution Week is celebrated annually on September 17-23.

Jackson-Madison Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will commemorate national Constitution Week on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 3:00 pm with the annual ringing of bells at their monthly meeting in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 1573 N. Highland, Jackson.

The bells will be rung to celebrate the signing of the U. S. Constitution in 1787.  Jackson-Madison Chapter DAR encourages all Jackson and Madison County schools, businesses and individuals to participate in “Bells Across America” to celebrate the 238th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America on September 17, 1787.

Ring small bells, large bells, glass bells, brass bells, wooden bells, porcelain bells, jingle bells.  Let the sound of freedom ring throughout our city and county during Constitution Week on Thursday, September 18, 2025.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With more than 190,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations. DAR is non-partisan and non-political, and welcomes any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineage to a Revolutionary War patriot.

The Jackson-Madison Chapter was founded in June 1901, and is one of the oldest and most active chapters in the state of Tennessee.
