Rain Chances for Everyone on Tuesday, Few More Chances in the Forecast!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
There is a stationary boundary just to the east of the Tennessee River today but it is too far away to bring showers into West Tennessee this afternoon and evening. A low pressure system connected to a weak front will drift through our area on Tuesday and will bring a decent shot for some showers and weak storms with it. A few of the showers could linger into Wednesday. Another front will look to pass through on Thursday but it is looking like a mostly dry system as of now. We will break the complicated forecast down for you coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
After a really nice weekend the weather continued to be nice for our Labor Day across all of West Tennessee. There were some early day showers near the Tennessee River but they quickly drifted to the east away from us. The showers are developing along a stationary boundary that is connected to a low pressure system sitting in east Kansas. The system will move our way and pass through on Tuesday. Clouds will increase tonight as the system gets closer but the winds will be calm making for a warm night with lows dropping into the mid 60s.

Expect a mostly cloudy day on Tuesday and our best chance for rain this week will accompany the clouds. Highs will still reach the mid 80s with the light breeze out of the south. It will be a bit more humid helping to get some of these showers going during the day. A few weak storms will be possible but severe weather is NOT expected in our area. Chances for rain are 60% and Tuesday night lows will drop down to the mid 60s again.

There will be a few lingering showers along the trailing front on Wednesday but chances are only 30% as of now. The best chance for these showers will be south of Jackson in the afternoon and evening hours. Skies will be partly cloudy and the winds will vary in direction along the front starting out of the southwest and turning to the northwest late in the day. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s and overnight lows will again fall down to the mid 60s.

Thursday will start out nice but another front is expected to get close and stall out somewhere across the Mid South late in the day on Thursday. Skies will still be partly cloudy and the front looks like a mostly dry front as of now. Highs will reach the mid 80s but overnight lows will drop down to the upper 50s behind the front. Chances for rain are only 20% but that number is more likely to go up than down as the week goes on.

Friday will be a mostly dry day as the front that will drift through on Thursday will be pushed back up to the north into the afternoon. This will allow temperatures to climb back up into the low 90s. Depending on when the front lifts, a few showers may be possible but chances are pretty low at 20% as of now. Expected a partly cloudy day on Friday will the winds coming in out of the west. The weather again looks great for Friday Night Football across West Tennessee. Friday night lows will fall down to around 60° to kick off the weekend.
THE WEEKEND:
Another nice and mild weekend looks to be coming for the first weekend of September for West Tennessee. As of now, shower chances are 20% on Saturday and 10% on Sunday. Skies in general will be partly cloudy and there will be a few more clouds on Saturday than Sunday. Both nights will drop to the low to mid 50s and the winds will come out of the north or northeast this weekend. It will not be a hot and humid weekend but overall, it is looking pretty nice. Make some outdoor plans if you can as our nice weekends are most likely numbered for the rest of the season.
