Madison County Sheriff’s Office investigates carjacking, robbery, and pursuit
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE:
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — On or about August 30, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a male victim reported being carjacked at the Dollar General Store located in Beech Bluff, Tennessee.

The victim stated he was in his vehicle when a black male suspect pointed a handgun at his face from the passenger side of the vehicle. A second black male suspect then opened the driver’s door and struck the victim in the back of the head with a handgun, causing injuries. The suspects continued to rob the victim and took several personal belongings before leaving the scene and fleeing in the victim’s vehicle.
At approximately 4:15 p.m. that same day, deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office located the reported stolen vehicle from the carjacking incident and attempted to initiate a traffic stop in Madison County, which resulted in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit continued through Madison County and into Gibson County.
For reasons still under investigation, the situation escalated near the intersection of Highway 79 South and South Main Street located in the Town of Gibson, where there was a vehicle collision between the suspects’ vehicle and a Madison County patrol vehicle. Three black male juveniles were occupants of the stolen vehicle at the time of the crash. Two were taken into custody at the scene.
During the course of the incident, a Madison County deputy discharged his firearm, which resulted in the third juvenile sustaining a non-life threatening injury to the arm and was transported to a hospital. The deputy also sustained a non-life threatening head injury and was transported to a hospital.
Through the course of the investigation, the three juvenile suspects were arrested. Charges include TCA 39-13-402 Aggravated Robbery, TCA 39-13-404 Carjacking, and TCA 39-17-1307 Carrying or Possession of a Weapon. Additional charges in this incident are forthcoming. At the time of this incident, one of the suspects was out on bond on an unrelated robbery charge.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time, as the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent review of the officer involved shooting.
