What’s New Wednesday: Scooter’s Coffee
JACKSON, Tenn. — Well wake up and smell the coffee – a nationwide business has made its way to the Hub City. It’s time for What’s New Wednesday!
Scooter’s Coffee opened earlier this summer at 1732 South Highland avenue in Jackson.
“Scooter’s Coffee, it started in 1998 in Omaha, Nebraska,” said Ryan Scoggin, principal and co-founder for Pyramid Coffee LLC. “They started out as a single store and they started franchising in 2000 — early 2000s. There’s 870 some, 880 locations I think nationwide now. It’s growing super fast in the south.”
As a drive-thru only, everything inside is built for speed and efficiency, and designed to enhance the customer experience.
“The mission here is amazing people providing amazing coffee amazingly fast, we want to redefine the customer service model for our people here in Jackson, Tennessee,” said Stephen West, multi-store manager.
Their coffee items, with favorites like the “Carmelicious Blender” or the “Turtle Latte,” all start with specialty grade coffee beans.
“Which is a top 10% grade of coffee bean you can find. It’s all sourced from Costa Rica. The beans are shipped green to Omaha, Nebraska and roasted there at the roastery and distributed out to us,” said Scoggin.
And it’s not just coffee. Scooter’s also offers other drinks such as their Red Bull infusions, and a variety of food items like their waffle sandwich.
“And then we do things like everything bagels, ciabatta bread sandwiches, we have dessert items like our cinnamon roll and our chocolate chip mini cookies, we got a lot of options,” said West.
Management also says that they enjoy getting involved in the community and participating in fundraising efforts.
And the location in south Jackson is just their first in the Hub City. A second location is expected to be open on North Highland, north of Interstate 40, by early November.
