September marks Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Research and funding is crucial in the fight against childhood cancer. The nonprofit ‘Hyundai Hope on Wheels’ is committed to finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Since its founding in 1998, the organization has donated total of $277 million and helped more than 25,000 children.
“The 70s, the survival rate was about 58%. It’s upwards to 85% today, which gives us a lot of hope. None of us at Hyundai Hope on Wheels will stop until we get to 100%,” said John Gustaferro, executive director of Hyundai Hope on Wheels.
Cancer is the most common cause of death by disease for children in America.
