Jackson Fire launches shirt fundraiser for breast cancer awareness

JACKSON, Tenn. — October is the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month, and one local fire department is getting a head start.

The Jackson Fire Department has launched their new line up of shirts to help promote breast cancer awareness.

T-shirts are available for pick-up while supplies last starting at $25, and long sleeve shirts are only up for pre-order starting at $30.

“We’re celebrating the whole month!” said Rob Johnson, Jackson Fire training officer. “The guys, you’ll see them out for the whole month of October wearing this shirt, so it’s one of those things. They want to get a break from our regular shirts and then obviously we’re supporting a good cause. This is the first time we’ve done long sleeve this year, we usually just stick with a short sleeve. So this year, they are really similar to the uniforms that we wear now, and then probably next year, we’re probably gonna go back to the pink. Everybody likes the pink shirts.”
