Memorial program in Bolivar marks anniversary of 9/11

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — The Bolivar Fire Department hosted a special event on the 24th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Early in the morning, first responders and local dignitaries gathered to share in thoughtful reflection and breakfast at Backwoods Restaurant.

Shortly after, the memorial processional traveled to the fire department for a brief memorial program.

“Even though it’s been 24 years, it still seems like, when it comes around it’s like it still seems like it might’ve happened yesterday,” said Fire Chief Lynn Price. “So it still hurts, you know? So, today we celebrated 343 firefighters, 11 EMS, and 72 police officers that lost their life during that terror attack.”

Chief Price says it’s important that we continue these traditions every year.
