Candlelight vigil held in memory of Charlie Kirk
JACKSON, Tenn.—Residents gathered together to remember Charlie Kirk.
A candlelight vigil took place Saturday evening at the courthouse square in Jackson.
Charlie Kirk, Co-founder and Executive Director of the student organization Turning Point USA, was assassinated last week while attending a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
Saturday night people gathered downtown to remember Kirk, some holding signs, some dressed patriotically, many with candles lit to honor his memory.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re for Charlie or against Charlie. Get out there and talk to people about it and handle it in a way that doesn’t involve a high powered gun from hundreds of yards away. Get in their face and lets talk like this. That’s a call to action no matter what you believe,” said Ryan Ferraro, Coordinator for Charlie Kirk vigil.
The man believed to be responsible for Kirk’s death has since been taken into custody.
Kirk leaves behind a wife, and two children.
