BBB warns of rise in event ticket scams

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Better Business Bureau is warning consumers about ticket scams.

When purchasing a ticket online for a game, concert, or any other event, the BBB encourages you to purchase from the official venue whenever possible.

Also, consider your source and know the difference between a professional ticket broker, a ticket scalper, and a scammer.

You can also sign up for alerts and get covered with ticket insurance.

“Recently, we did have a West Tennessee woman that was scammed out of $250 for college football tickets through Facebook, so we wanted to warn consumers to be smart when searching for and purchasing tickets,” said Toddnetta Trice with the BBB of the Mid-South.
