Mostly Dry & Hot for a Few Days, Rain Chances Return Later this Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
After a few storms Sunday night, there was a chance for a few more this afternoon but they have struggled to develop yet today in West Tennessee. There are many showers and storms in Missouri and Arkansas and that is where most of them are going to stay tonight. Mostly dry and hot weather will be sticking around this week but there is a pretty good chance for showers and storms to move back into our area late in the week and into the upcoming weekend. We will have the complete forecast for you coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
There were a few storms on Sunday that were tracking south into West Tennessee but as they reached our area, they fell apart and most of us missed out on the rain on Sunday and Monday. Rain chances are slim for a few days but will be coming back on Friday and chances are looking pretty good this weekend as well. Highs will stay above normal through the weekend as well before cooling back down near normal as we head into next week.

A stray shower or two cannot be ruled out, especially near the Mississippi River tonight but most of us will be dry. Some clouds will stick around and the winds will be calm for the most part. Expect partly cloudy skies and overnight lows will fall down to the mid 60s to kick off your Tuesday. Tuesday is going to be hot again but will not be near the record as highs will top out in the low to mid 90s. The winds will be calm most of the day but increase to 5 MPH and come out of the southeast at times during the day. Expect mostly sunny skies and overnight lows will again fall down to the mid 60s.

Wednesday and Thursday will be very similar to Tuesday with highs in the mid 90s and mostly sunny skies. There might be a few more clouds late Thursday depending on the timing of the next system but we are expecting the dry weather to linger through the middle of the week. The winds will vary in direction on Wednesday but primarily come out of the east and primarily come out of the south on Thursday. Both nights overnight lows will stay in the mid 60s. Both days will be hot but the humidity will NOT play much of a factor.
The next chance for rain for most of us is coming on Friday and the next system will begin to move through the region. Some of the football Friday night could be impacted so you will need to monitor the forecast as the week goes on so you have the appropriate gear before you head out. It is not a lock we are going to see much as of now, chances for rain are at 20 on Friday. Expect that number to go up a bit this weekend when we get more confidence in the forecast. Highs on Friday will reach the low 90s and the skies will be partly cloudy. The winds will come out of the southwest and Friday night lows will also drop into the mid 60s to kick off the weekend.
THE WEEKEND:
As of now the weekend is looking quite promising for rain chances across the Mid South including all of West Tennessee. Chances for rain are around 30-40% each day so far this weekend. There is a lot in the forecast yet to be determined about which day and who is the most likely to pick up some beneficial rain showers from the next system. The system is going to move through though and cool things down some into next week. Highs this weekend will be around 90° and expect a mix of sun and clouds. If it does rain, it will not be steady and ruin outdoor plans; as of now, the showers look quite spotty. Overnight lows will stay in the mid 60s and it will be a bit more humid this weekend than earlier in the week. Cooler weather looks to be coming next week but we will stay above average through the weekend.
