TCAT Jackson offers workshop to students for ‘National Voter Registration Day’

JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s National Voter Registration Day and one local college is helping students get prepared.

The Tennessee College of Applied Science and Technology of Jackson partnered with the Eric Beasley foundation to encourage more students to vote.

The event was held to educate new and returning students on the voting process. The staff is proud of the turnout and the fact that many students wanted to register to vote.

“We’re very grateful. Seeing the younger generation use their voice is a very inspiring thing and I hope it inspires others to come out and get registered to vote,” said Ashley Wilder, student services counselor for TCAT Jackson.
