PRESS RELEASE FROM TDOT:

West Tennessee Construction September 17- September 24, 2025

There will be possible DAYTIME or NIGHTTIME lane closures at various locations in Region 4 to  make repairs or new installs on an as needed basis at various locations throughout the 21 counties. 

District 47  

BENTON COUNTY 
I-40 at Exit 126: The grading, drainage, and paving on I-40 at the US-641 (SR-69) interchange (Exit  126) will cause temporary lane closures throughout the project. 

BENTON COUNTY  
SR-1 (US70): The grading, drainage, and paving on US70 (SR1) from the Camden Bypass to the  Tennessee River will cause temporary lane closures throughout the project. 

CARROLL COUNTY
SR-1: The Resurfacing on SR1 (US 70) from near Rutherford Fork Obion River to SR22 includes all  directions of Huntingdon Square) will cause temporary nightly and daily lane closures throughout  the project for milling and paving.    

CARROLL COUNTY  
SR-76 (US-79): The Resurfacing on SR76 from near Winston/Sydnor Road to the Henry County Line will cause temporary nightly and daily lane closures throughout the project for milling and paving. 

CARROLL COUNTY  
SR-76 (US-79): The grading, drainage, noise walls, signals and paving on U.S. 79 (S.R. 76) from near  S.R. 77 to near Cutlip Lane will cause lane closures throughout the project. 

Meadowbrook Lane is closed. 

Cutlip Lane: Traffic was shifted to the new alignment from near Cutlip Ln. to the Connector Rd. leading into Trezevant, speed limit reduced to 35 MPH. Traffic will proceed down the new  alignment to an All Way Stop and then proceed onto Old US79 (SR76). 

Dorsey Rd is closed for utility realignment and road construction, weather permitting. Detour route  will be delineated by signage. 

Clay Farm Rd is closed for utility realignment and road construction, weather permitting. Detour  route will be provided along Newsome Rd and will be delineated by signage. Power Station Rd: Is closed for road construction, and traffic will be detoured along US-70A/SR105  Main Street.

DYER COUNTY  
SR-211: The bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River (just south of Dyersburg) will have  outside lane closures for inspection and evaluation beginning August 9, 2024. 

DYER COUNTY 
SR-78: The Resurfacing on SR78 from near US 51 (SR3) to SR103 will cause temporary nightly and  daily lane closures throughout the project for milling and paving. 

GIBSON COUNTY  
SR-186: The Resurfacing on SR186 from the Madison County line to SR-76 will cause temporary lane  closures throughout the project.    

HENRY COUNTY  
SR-218: The Resurfacing on SR218 from SR77 to SR76 will cause temporary lane closures  throughout the project.    


District 48  

CHESTER COUNTY 
SR100 between E. Main St. and Baker Rd.  

Crews are replacing 2 bridges on SR100 between E. Main St. and Baker Rd. Please use caution  throughout the area. There is a temporary traffic signal in place at the bridge over Dry Creek, east  of Henderson. 

Restrictions: Speed limit is reduced from 55 MPH to 45 MPH on SR100 

CROCKETT COUNTY  
SR88 in Bells, TN in relation to relocating SR76 around Picksweet  

Beginning Thursday, August 14, 2025 the following roads will be closed in Bells, TN  Central Ave. (SR88) from High St. To Christian Ave Ext. 

  • Central Ave. (SR88), west of the CSX Railroad 
  • Weddle St., south of Mitchell Ave. 
  • Hicks St., from High St. To south of existing Central Ave. (SR88) 

A posted detour will be in place for SR88. 

DECATUR COUNTY 
U.S. 641 (S.R. 69) from near McCorkle Lane to Benton County line: The resurfacing on U.S. 641 (S.R.  69) from near McCorkle Lane to the Benton County line, including bridge expansion joint repairs  and thin epoxy overlay, will cause temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will always  remain open. 

DECATUR COUNTY  
SR-100 from the Henderson County line to Tillman Road/Shady Hill: The resurfacing on SR-100 from  the Henderson County line to Tillman Road/Shady Hill Road will require lane closures during Scrub  Seal application and resurfacing work.

HARDEMAN COUNTY
U.S. 64 (SR15) from Walton Rd. To Davis Way through Bolivar, TN: There will be lane closures daily  for resurfacing work including bridge repairs. 

HARDEMAN COUNTY 
U.S. 64 from Davis Way to Lockwood Way: There will be daily lane closures for resurfacing work on U.S. 64 (S.R. 15) from Davis Way to Lockwood Way.    

HARDIN COUNTY  
SR128 from US64 (SR15) to near Clifton Rd.: There will be lane closures daily for resurfacing work  including bridge repairs. 

HARDIN COUNTY (TDOT Bridge Inspection)  
US64 (SR15) Tennessee River Bridge in Savannah, TN  

Tuesday, September 23 and Wednesday, September 24, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.: There will be  intermittent lane closures both east and westbound over the TN River bridge in Savannah, TN for  Bridge Inspection. 

HAYWOOD COUNTY (TDOT BRIDGE INSPECTION)  
I-40 from MM 51 to MM 53 at Exit 52  

Thursday, September 18, 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.: There will be intermittent lane closures on I-40  eastbound and westbound from MM 51 to MM 53 for bridge inspection to inspect the Exit 52  overpass bridge.  

HAYWOOD COUNTY  
SR180 Near Jeffries Rd. To Raymond Akin Rd. Closed to through traffic  

SR180 is closed to through traffic for crews to repair the bridge over Lost Creek just north of  Nutbush, TN due to damage caused by the recent multi-day flood event. 

HAYWOOD COUNTY  
SR222 from near proposed SR468 to near Camp Ground Rd.  

The reconstruction and widening of SR222 from near proposed SR468 to near Camp Ground Rd.  will cause traffic disruption daily. Please use caution through the area. 

HENDERSON COUNTY (TDOT Floating Maintenance) 
I-40 Westbound MM 119-121  

Sunday, September 21 and Monday, September 22, 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be intermittent  lane closures on I-40 westbound in Henderson County between MM 119 and MM 121 for  resurfacing work. WEATHER DEPENDENT

HENDERSON COUNTY 
S.R. 22 from Chester County line to Taylor Bailey Road: The resurfacing on S.R. 22 from the Chester  County line to near Taylor Bailey Road, including thin epoxy overlay on the bridge over Piney Creek,  will cause temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will always remain open. 

HENDERSON COUNTY 
S.R. 22A from Chester County line to Simpson Park Cove: The resurfacing on S.R. 22A from the  Chester County line to near Simpson Park Cove including bridge expansion joint repair, will cause  temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will always remain open. 

HENDERSON & DECATUR COUNTY
S.R. 201 in Henderson Co from S.R. 104 to the Decatur County line: The resurfacing on S.R. 201  from S.R. 104 to the Decatur County line, including repair work on bridge, will cause temporary lane  closures in both directions. One lane will always remain open. 

S.R. 201 in Decatur Co from the Henderson County line to S.R. 202: The resurfacing on S.R. 201  from the Henderson County line to S.R. 202 will cause temporary lane closures in both directions.  One lane will always remain open. 

MADISON COUNTY 
I-40 – Lower Brownsville Road to South Fork Forked Deer River: The resurfacing on I-40 from near  Lower Brownsville Road to the South Fork Forked Deer River, including thin epoxy overlay will cause  temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will always remain open. Restrictions: Speed limit is reduced from 70 MPH to 60 MPH on I-40. 

Wednesday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 24, 7PM-6AM: There will be  intermittent lane closures on I-40 east and westbound in Madison County from MM74-MM78 for  milling and paving operations.

Wednesday, September 24 through Wednesday, October 1, 7PM-6AM: There will be intermittent  lane closures on I-40 east and westbound in Madison County from MM74-MM78 for milling and  paving operations. 

MADISON COUNTY 
I-40 at S.R. 138 (EXIT 68): The interchange improvements on I-40 at S.R. 138 (Exit 68), including  grading, drainage, and paving will cause temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will  remain open at all times. 

Restrictions: Speed limit is reduced from 70 MPH to 60 MPH on I-40. 

Wednesday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 24, 7PM-6AM: There are no scheduled  closures. 

MADISON COUNTY
US412 (SR20) at Old Bells Rd.: There are inside lane closures both east and westbound at the  intersection of US412 (SR20) and Old Bells Rd. for intersection improvements. There will also be  lane closures on Old Bells Rd. for resurfacing work. 

MADISON COUNTY (JEA)  
SR1 (E. Chester St.) from Hamilton St. to James Buchanan Dr.  

Monday, September 22, through Wednesday, September 24; 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.: There will be a right lane and turning lane closure westbound on SR1 (E. Chester St) from Hamilton Street to James  Buchanan Drive for utility work. 

MCNAIRY COUNTY  
SR5 (U.S. 45) from the Mississippi State Line to SR57: The resurfacing on SR5 (U.S. 45) from the MS  State Line to SR57 including signal improvements at the intersection. 


District 49  

INTERSTATE 

FAYETTE COUNTY 
SR-222 including the I-40 interchange (Exit 42): Grading, drainage, signals, and paving on SR 222  from Hebron Drive to near Thorpe Drive, including the I-40 interchange (Exit 42), will cause  temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will always remain open. Restrictions: Speed limit is reduced from 45 MPH to 40 MPH on S.R.222. 

Wednesday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 24, 8PM-4:30AM: There will be  intermittent lane closures on I-40 east and westbound in Fayette County from MM41-MM43, as  well as ramp closures at Exit 42, for milling and paving operations as well as moving barrier rail. LOOK AHEAD 

Wednesday, September 24 through Wednesday, October 1, 8PM-4:30AM: There will be  intermittent lane closures on I-40 east and westbound in Fayette County from MM41-MM43, as  well as ramp closures at Exit 42, for milling and paving operations as well as moving barrier rail. WEATHER DEPENDENT   

SHELBY COUNTY
I-40 from Exit 18 (U.S. 64) to Exit 28 (SR-196) 

Wednesday, September 17 through Wednesday, September 24, 7 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.: There will be  intermittent temporary lane closures along Eastbound and Westbound I-40 for asphalt paving.  At least one lane in each direction will always remain open.   

SHELBY COUNTY
I-240 from near SR-57 (Poplar Ave.) to near US-64 (US-70, SR-1 Summer Ave.): Nightly 7:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.: There will be intermittent temporary lane closures for asphalt  resurfacing activities. At least one lane in each direction to remain open at all times.    

SHELBY COUNTY
I-55 from near Exit 12 Crump Blvd. to near Bridgeport Rd. (Arkansas): 

Monday, September 8, through Thursday, October 2: The Interstate 55 (I-55) bridge over the  Mississippi River is scheduled to have daily outside lane closures in both the northbound and  southbound directions to perform a routine bridge inspection. The lane closures will start on the  southbound side of the bridge and then move to the northbound side. 

The northbound lane closures are scheduled daily from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

The southbound lane closures are scheduled daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.   

SHELBY COUNTY
SR- 14/ US-61 (Third Street) Bridges over ICRR and Nonconnah Creek Shelby County, Tennessee.  Interstate 55 Exit Ramp Bridge to State Route 14 State Route 14 (South 3rd Street) Bridge over  Interstate 55. 

The following ramps on US-61 S Third St (SR14) at I 55 will continue to remain closed with detours in  place: 

  • Northbound S.R. 14 to northbound I-55. 
  • Southbound S.R. 14 to southbound I-55. 

On Wednesday, September 3, northbound SR-14 traffic was reduced to one lane from the approach  to the bridge over Nonconnah Creek to just beyond the northbound SR-14 to northbound I-55 loop  ramp.   

STATE ROUTES 

FAYETTE COUNTY
SR-57 from SR-194 to Cowan Loop: There will be temporary lane closures on east and westbound SR  57 from SR 194 to Cowan Loop DAILY to perform resurfacing and bridge repair work.   

FAYETTE COUNTY
SR-193 from near SR-195 to SR-76: There will be temporary lane closures on east and westbound SR  193 from near SR 195 to SR 76 DAILY to perform resurfacing work. 

FAYETTE COUNTY
SR-194 from North Railroad Street to SR-193: There will be temporary lane closures on north and  southbound SR 194 from North Railroad Street to SR 193 DAILY to perform micro surfacing and  bridge repair work.   

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-1 (U.S. 70, Summer Ave.) from near I-40 to North of Sycamore View Rd.: 

Daily: There will be temporary lane closures along Westbound and Eastbound SR-1 for roadway  widening activities. Eastbound SR-1 will be reduced from two lanes to one lane beginning at the I-40  Frontage Rd. and ending East of Sycamore View Rd. Westbound SR-1 will be reduced from two lanes  to one lane beginning near Munson Rd. and ending at the I-40 Frontage Road. Trucks will be  entering and exiting the work zone along SR-1. Flaggers will be present for directing traffic as  necessary. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.   

SHELBY COUNTY
SR 1 (U.S. 51) Danny Thomas Blvd from Poplar Ave. to Jackson Avenue, Daily: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.:  There will be temporary lane closures for ADA ramp construction and Traffic Signal installations.  One or more lanes will remain open in both directions on (U.S. 51) Danny Thomas Blvd. at all times.    

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-4 from South of Shelby Drive to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange: The following routes will  be affected due to roadway widening activities along SR-4. 

Affected Routes: 

  • Lamar Avenue (SR-4): Speed limit reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph from South of Shelby  Drive to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange.  
  • Shelby Drive (SR-175): Speed limit reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph at the intersection with  Lamar Avenue (SR-4). 
  • Pleasant Run Road: Closed to thru traffic from Pleasant Hill Road. Pleasant Run Road is  closed from Lamar Avenue (SR-4). 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-14 from Kerrville Rosemark Road to the Tipton County Line: 

The widening on SR-14 (Austin Peay Hwy) from Kerrville-Rosemark to the Tipton County Line will  cause shoulder closures and temporary lane closures in both directions. There will be intermittent  lane closures daily on eastbound and westbound SR 14 to perform grading, drainage, and paving  work. Tracy Rd, Mulberry Rd, and Gragg Rd. will be closed, and a detour put in place. 

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-57 (E. Poplar Avenue) from Fletcher Road to I-269 (SR-385):  

Wednesday, September 17th to Monday, September 29th: There will be intermittent temporary lane  closures along Eastbound and Westbound SR-57 for roadway widening activities. Flaggers will be  present to direct traffic. At least one lane will always remain open. 

TIPTON COUNTY
US-51 (SR-3) from East Woodlawn Avenue to Winn Street: There will be temporary inside and  outside lane closures on north and southbound US 51 from East Woodlawn Avenue to Winn Street  DAILY to perform bridge repairs and resurfacing work. At least one lane in each direction will always  be open.  

TIPTON COUNTY
US-51 (SR-3) from Southall Road to Hope Street: There will be temporary inside and outside lane  closures on north and southbound US 51 from Southall Road to Hope Street DAILY to perform  resurfacing work. At least one lane in each direction will always be open.  

TIPTON COUNTY
SR-54 from US-51 (SR-3) to the Haywood County Line: There will be temporary lane closures on east  and westbound SR 54 from US 51 to the Haywood County Line DAILY to perform resurfacing and  bridge repair work.  

TIPTON COUNTY
SR-384 from Hastings Way to the US-51 (SR-3): There will be temporary lane closures on north and  southbound SR 384 from Hastings Way to US 51 DAILY to perform resurfacing and bridge repair  work.    

NON-TDOT WORK  

SHELBY COUNTY
SR-3 (US51 Elvis Presley Blvd.) from Craft Rd. to Winchester Rd.: There will be long term lane  closures going north and southbound SR 3 (US51) to perform reconstruction improvements.
