Looking Good for Football & Saturday, Showers Back Late Sunday Lasting into Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
The football games are looking quite nice this Friday night here in West Tennessee. There have a been a couple of showers and weak storms today but most of those are fizzling out quickly. Saturday is also looking mostly dry but some showers and weak storms could return late in the day on Sunday. Rain chances are looking really good on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week too! We will have the complete forecast breakdown coming up right here.

THIS WEEK:
Thursday was very similar to Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 90s and mostly sunny skies. There was a few clouds late Thursday night and the dry weather lasted until Friday afternoon when few showers popped up. The winds varied in direction but primarily came out of the south on Thursday. Thursday night lows stayed in the mid 60s. It was hot all day but the humidity at least didn’t play much of a factor this week. The latest drought monitor has come out and areas northwest of Madison county have been put under an extreme drought. We really need the rain and chances really ramp up on Sunday and linger into next week, the first week of fall.

There were a few showers on Friday as the next system moved through the region. We still cannot rule out one or two of the football games being impacted but chances overall are slim to be impacted. Highs on Friday reached up to around 90° and were a little cooler due to the weak frontal boundary that passed by during the day. The front did bring a few clouds and we saw partly cloudy skies in general. The winds varied in direction during the day as well due to the boundary and were a tad breezy at times as the front passed. Friday night lows will also drop into the low to mid 60s to kick off the weekend.
THE WEEKEND:
As of now the weekend is looking quite nice on Saturday with rain chances below 20%. Sunday rain chances across the Mid South including all of West Tennessee are looking a bit more promising, but still only 30% at this time. We will be in-between systems on Saturday. The next system is going to move through though on Sunday and cool things down some into next week. Highs this weekend will be around 90° and expect a mix of sun and clouds. If it does rain, it will not be steady and ruin outdoor plans; as of now, the showers look quite spotty. Overnight lows will stay in the mid 60s and it will be a bit more humid this weekend than earlier in the week. Cooler weather looks to be coming next week but we will stay above average through the weekend.

NEXT WEEK:
Fall officially kicks off on Monday and although it will be cooler than the previous few days, highs will still reach the upper 80s and be above the normal high in the mid 80s. There appears to be a decent shot for showers and storms on Monday and some may linger into the day on Tuesday next week. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy on Monday and the clouds will have less coverage on Tuesday. Highs will stay above 85° through the middle of next week. Morning lows will stay in the mid to upper 60s due to a light breeze out of the south cutting off the cooler and super dry air and keeping it just to the north of us.
