‘Racing to Ride 5k’ held in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.—Seasoned runners, and newcomers gather in Jackson to raise money for a special cause.

The “Racing So They Can Ride 5k” took place Saturday morning along Vann Drive in Jackson.

Participants met up in the parking lot at Dick’s Sporting Goods at 8 a.m. for the start of the event. The fun was open to kids and adults and entry fees were $20 and above to enter.

Those who took part had the opportunity to complete a 5k run, 10k run or a 1 mile fun run or walk for the event.

Proceeds from the race goes to support Rein-Bow Riding Academy’s local therapy programs provided at the Therapy and Learning Center in Jackson.

The hippotherapy programs are offered to children and adults with special needs. The unique therapy utilizes horse riding as a way to help tackle the motor and sensory issues of its riders.

This year’s event was also held in memory of Caleb Lott.
