One local community celebrates 100 years
JACKSON, Tenn.—One special event celebrates a century of local community staples.
The Madison Hall Community Day kicked off at 8 a.m. Saturday morning in the area of Steam Mill Ferry Road in Jackson.
The Community Day celebrated three iconic staples including the Anderson Presbyterian Church, Madison Baptist Church and Madison Hall Community Center. All three celebrate 100 year of existence.
Saturday’s event featured open houses at each building along with individual events including fundraisers. There was a bake sale, yard sale, and also a free medical clinic. The fundraisers each benefited causes at each establishment like painting the church or money to fund other important programs.
There were also door prizes, as well as food and drinks available for purchase.
The community center which was originally a school, continues to be an important asset to all three institutions.
