PRESS RELEASE FROM THE JACKSON ROCKABILLYS:

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Rockabillys announced today that veteran coach Matty Holem has been named the team’s Field Manager for the 2026 season. Holem brings more than 17 years of experience across summer collegiate and independent professional baseball to Rockabillys Stadium.

Holem most recently managed the Waynesboro Generals of the Valley Baseball League in Virginia prior to taking the summer of 2025 off. His coaching résumé includes extensive stints in the Northwoods League, Mink League, Ohio Valley League, Cornbelt League, Jayhawk League, Thoroughbred League, and the Heartland Professional Baseball League.

“Matty Holem has a wide and successful background in coaching summer collegiate baseball,” said Dennis Bastien, Rockabillys President & General Manager. “He has been consistent in his approach to recruiting and developing players while building strong relationships with college coaches. Matty joins us with great enthusiasm and love for the game. Since the beginning of our Prospect League journey, he has expressed his desire to lead this ballclub, and we are blessed to have him on board for our fourth season in 2026. Opening Night in late May will be here before we know it!”

Holem, who is approaching his 250th career win in summer collegiate baseball, expressed his excitement about joining the Rockabillys organization. “I am really excited about this tremendous opportunity. The Prospect League is one of the best summer leagues in the country. To get the opportunity to come into Jackson and the Rockabillys family is nothing short of amazing. I have been in a lot of places in summer baseball, and Jackson is definitely a special place. This ballpark is incredible—one of the finest facilities in all of summer baseball. Dennis Bastien and his family have done a great job putting this together, and it’s clear he is dedicated to doing things the right way and bringing a championship to the city of Jackson. I could not be more blessed and honored to be part of that journey.”

Holem currently resides in Tampa, Florida with his wife Jackie, who recently retired from the United States Navy.

The 2026 season marks the Rockabillys’ fourth year in the Prospect League, with Opening Night set for late May at Rockabillys Stadium.
