What’s New Wednesday: The Station

HOLLADAY, Tenn. — The Station opened in Holladay in June.

It’s a multi-use facility that serves as a community center, offering a venue for parties or corporate gatherings, and features fun events like game nights and live music.

“Music’s probably the cornerstone of this. We do open mic night about once a month, and then about every six weeks we try to bring in an exciting artist,” said manager Doc Holladay.

Some of those artists have included nationally-recognized musicians like Keith Burns from Trick Pony, and country star Pam Tillis.

As an experienced songwriter and musician himself, Doc Holladay tells us he had a vision that this particular building could draw people in and bring the community together.

“I think it’s unique because it’s a historic building also, this building was the original Bank of Holladay, it was built around 1910,” Doc said. “And to be able to have events like this with big name artists like that, it’s a pretty special thing.”

And with deep history tying them to the area, as an ancestor helped the Holladay community earn its name, owner Susie Holladay tells us she loves being a part of the venture.

“It’s just my dream. That’s all I can say,” Susie said. “I just want something that would bring the community together, I’m getting reacquainted with people I haven’t seen in years, and I just am loving every minute of it.”

And The Station isn’t just for gathering. It also offers an Airbnb on site, where guests can enjoy a unique stay — maybe even after a night of enjoying live music.

“Where else can you stay in a BnB and maybe Pam Tillis is playing next door, you know, it’s not a real common thing you see often,” Doc said.

The Station is located at 6955 Highway 192 in Holladay.
