Victims identified in fatal head-on collision

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — Two are dead following a head-on collision in Carroll County Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 6 a.m., halting traffic in the area for hours.

According to a preliminary report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the scene was near 13110 U.S. 70.

The report shows that a 2012 Nissan Murano, operated by 74-year-old Jimmy Edwards, was traveling westbound. A 2015 Dodge Challenger, operated by 25-year-old Davin Parker, was traveling eastbound.

According to the report, the crash occurred in the eastbound lane, resulting in the death of both drivers.

The report shows that Edwards was wearing a seatbelt, with no indication whether Parker was or not. Both were Tennessee residents.
