Felon arrested as agents seize handgun, cocaine
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE WEST TENNESSEE DRUG TASK FORCE - 28TH, 29TH, 30TH DISTRICTS:
BROWNSVILLE, TN – On 9/24/25, Drug Task Force Agents from the 28th District out of Brownsville served a search warrant on E. Jefferson St. pursuant to an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine from the home.
During the search, Agents seized a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun and approximately 1/2 ounce of cocaine.
Agents arrested one previously convicted felon who was out of custody on supervised probation.
This case is being prosecuted by The Office of the District Attorney General, 28th Judicial District of Frederick Agee who placed a source motion hearing on the suspect’s bond setting. Agents were assisted by the Brownsville Police Department.
“Guns, violent crime and drugs go hand in hand and are usually linked in some form. I commend my Agents on a successful resolution to this investigation and appreciate the invaluable assistance of the Brownsville Police Department”, said Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter.
