Team of The Week from week five Lexington Tigers
Your team of the week is the Lexington
Tigers. Last Friday was homecoming for them
and they showed out. Defeating Chester county
with a final score of 40 to 7. So far on the season this is Lexington
best showing being that they had their highest scoring point total and
on defense only giving up 7 points. Offensively they took it upon themselves
to dominate the ground game with 230 yards, averaged 6.8 yards per carry and
their longest run being 49 yards. They now have back to back wins and are
starting to look like one of the toughest teams in West Tennessee.
We spoke with head coach Derek Carr and he talked about last Friday’s win
and his guys growing confidence and having fun.
“We been really preaching to our guys about the process and just taking practice the most important thing that we do Monday through Thursday we believe is how you win football games or when you win football games and they saw on Friday that when you come in and focus on the process Monday through Thursday that good things tend to happen. You know your starting to see a team play with a lot
more confidence and you know their starting to have fun and enjoy the game and you know im very thankful for a group that again has fun with football has fun with the game i mean thats just a prime example. I think when this group understands what their capable of that the best truly is ahead of them.”

They hit the road to face off with
the South side Hawks on Friday at 7:00 pm.
