Shirley Jeanne Mabry
She was born on July 24, 1951, in Jackson, to the late Grady and Joyce Maners.
Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Grady (Barbara). She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roy; her children, Stephanie (Chad) and Brek (Allison); and her four beloved grandchildren, Preston, Sidalee, Garrett, and Lilah, who lovingly called her Mamaw and Mamoo. She also leaves behind her siblings Jimmy, Connie, Paul (Susan), and Mark (Bernadette), as well as many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
A graduate of North Side High School, Shirley spent her career working in transportation, where she met her husband, Roy. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball and racquetball, and she remained active throughout her life. Shirley loved the outdoors, especially working outside, fishing, and grilling out, and she treasured her time at the family farm. One of her proudest accomplishments was building a cabin there alongside her husband, brothers, and son — a place where she created countless memories cooking, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Shirley’s children were her greatest pride, and her grandchildren were the absolute joy of her life. She will be remembered for her hardworking spirit and her love for her family.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, the family requests that no flowers be sent. Donations in her memory can be made to the American Cancer Society. A private burial ceremony will be held with immediate family.
