Lexington Fire receives grant totaling more than $163k

FROM THE LEXINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT ON 10/6/25:

BIG NEWS FOR LEXINGTON FIRE DEPARTMENT!

We’re proud to announce that the Lexington Fire Department has been awarded $163,333.38 through the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program!

This funding will send 17 of our firefighters to EMT, Advanced EMT, and Paramedic school.

This investment directly supports our mission to strengthen emergency medical services in our community and ensure that every firefighter has the training, skills, and certifications needed to deliver the highest level of care when it matters most.

A special thank you to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA, as well as our city leadership and community partners for their ongoing support.

Together, we’re building a stronger, safer Lexington.
