WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:

Rain showers are back in West Tennessee and will be sticking around tonight into Tuesday morning. A low pressure system is moving up from the south and will slide through tonight. Many of us will pick up over 1-2″ of rain and a few storms will be possible overnight and again on Tuesday afternoon, but the severe weather threat looks low. Heavy rain showers are moving in tonight and will continue into the morning across West Tennessee. According to the National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center, a flood threat is shaping up for some areas tonight in West Tennessee. Areas totaling as much as 3″ of rain will be possible by the morning. Very heavy rain is falling in Memphis right now and that area is producing rainfall rates of more than 2″ an hour. Also, that area is spinning up to the northeast into our viewing area. We will have the latest on who might see the most rain and when it will be moving out; all coming up here.

THIS WEEK:

After a great weekend clouds moved in on our Monday and will be hanging around into the first half of the day on Tuesday. Rain showers will continue tonight and be heavy at times Tuesday morning. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible tonight and a couple of non severe storms could spark up Tuesday afternoon with most of them being closer to the Tennessee River than the Mississippi River. By Wednesday, dry weather will move back in and stick around through the weekend.

Really nice weather will move in for Thursday and Friday in West Tennessee. Highs will reach the mid 70s on Thursday before warming back up to the upper 70s on Friday. The forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies both days, but do not count on much in the way of clouds. Both days will be rain free as well. The winds on Thursday will stay out of the northeast but transition more to the east on Friday. Friday night football looks really nice again for everyone in the Mid South. Although it will feel cool compared to where we have been the last few weekends, temperatures will actually be right around average for this time of the year.

THE WEEKEND:

Another splendid weekend appears to be on the way for West Tennessee. Highs will reach the low 80s on Saturday and could even reach the mid 80s on Sunday. There will be only a few clouds on Saturday and sunny skies look to dominate on Sunday. The winds this weekend will come out of the east on Saturday and move back to the southeast by Sunday. Rain is NOT in the forecast for either day. Make some more outdoor plans as this is about as nice of an October weekend as we get in West Tennessee. Nice weather will be sticking around for the start of next week as well!
