Surprising ways Americans can save and build wealth right now
As part of National Financial Planning month, the head of ‘Philanthropy and Community Impact’ at Wells Fargo reveals four surprising and free tools to help Americans secure their financial futures.
Paying off debt, saving for unexpected expenses, simply being able to afford childcare–however you define financial freedom, it can seem more like a dream than an achievable goal.
Speaking from the ‘Prosperity Now’ summit in Washington, D.C., Darlene Goins outlines free community resources designed to help families save money and build wealth for better financial futures, in ways they may never have considered.
“So some of those would be the small business resource navigator–that can help you get connected to a community development financial institution. Savor life offers free scripts that can help you negotiate your rent with your landlord, and the National Disability Institute can help you understand and navigate able accounts,” said Goins.
According to a Pew Research Center survey, 40% of Americans believe they’re in fair financial condition right now, but roughly 3 in 10 adults say they expect their personal finances to get worse over the next year.
