What’s New Wednesday: The LOCAL
JACKSON, Tenn. — The LOCAL is a micro-retail development in the Hub City that’s home to a rotating collection of local businesses.
The space provides entrepreneurs with an opportunity to grow their brand in a low-overhead environment.
Loaded Juice is one of the current tenants, offering cold pressed juices, smoothies and more.
With no processed sugars or preservatives, their juices can be a great way to get your nutrients in a delicious way.
“At Loaded Juice, we take pride in making products that are all natural, and try our best to keep the junk out of it, and we want to continue to serve people in our community through Loaded Juice,” said Arnika Carter Douglas, owner & CEO.
And if you can’t make it to the juice truck, they provide local delivery and ship their products nationwide.
Also at The LOCAL is Atelier Hats. They offer handmade, customizable hats, along with repairs and restoration.
The founder tells us she was inspired by her family’s western store business, and now works directly with customers to bring their visions to life.
“Everything that leaves the shop is made by me, so everything is handmade from start to finish, so in terms of hat, you’re getting a bespoke, custom product,” said Elysia Cecchetti, founder & head hatter.
Every hat is crafted with care and can take around 8-10 hours to create.
Another current tenant is Sonder Finery, a gift shop specializing in flower preservation, jewelry and keepsakes.
The owner’s passion for preserving memories inspired the concept of turning floral arrangements into lifelong art.
“Especially like memorial flowers, when I preserve those, I’m like ‘somebody’s gonna see that and remember their grandmother, their daughter, their baby, their husband, uncle, whatever, you know? It is something that really like, ugh, makes me feel good,” said owner Morgan Gallemore.
And if you need a sweet treat, Gylden Bake House has visitors to The LOCAL covered.
The owner is aiming to fill a gap in the market for baked goods like bread, pies, and European-style pastries.
They offer rotating flavors and prioritize local and organic ingredients.
“I love this idea of, especially in the world we live in, like everybody’s welcome at the table. And so I think you just need these spaces where you can love people a different way, and I like to do that through food,” said owner Rebecca Creasy.
The LOCAL is located at 202 West Lafayette Street in Jackson.
