Lane College presents its annual Homecoming Parade

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local college celebrates Homecoming with its annual parade.

Dragon fans hit the streets of Jackson to support Lane College. Lane continues to celebrate homecoming week this weekend with several fun events.

The parade kicked off at 8:30 Saturday morning on Lane avenue. The parade featured dancers, several floats, bands from across the area, emergency vehicles, classic cars and more.

Also participating were several local businesses and organizations showing support for the college.

“We continuously help with the community by giving away food assistance with our local schools and making sure that whatever needs in the community that are not provided are met,” said Antoine Miller, Lane College Alumni.

The special events continued throughout the day with the Lane College Dragons taking on Miles College at Lane Field for the big homecoming football game. That took place at 2 Saturday afternoon.

Unfortunately, the Lane College Dragons lost to the Miles College Golden Bears in that game with a final score of 48–13.
