The day will begin with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m., followed by tournament play starting at 10:00 a.m.

This fun and family-friendly event will raise funds for the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, supporting their vital work in protecting children and strengthening families throughout the region.

About the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse:
The Carl Perkins Center works to support families in preventing and dealing with child abuse through education, intervention, and community outreach. Their mission is to ensure every child has the safe, happy, and healthy childhood they deserve.

Teams representing fire departments, law enforcement, EMS, and other local organizations will come together for a day of friendly competition, teamwork, and community spirit – all for a worthy cause.

Spectators are encouraged to attend, cheer on their favorite teams, and enjoy a day filled with camaraderie, food, and family fun. Donations and proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

Sgt. Det. Nick Brock with the Savannah Police Department stated, “We started this last year with just an idea that came to fruition. We wanted to provide a way that not only allowed our community to meet their local governmental agencies in a non-emergent setting but also allowed the community to show their support for a non-profit organization that is local to us and very near and dear to our hearts, The Carl Perkins Center. We feel so blessed that our Battle of the Badges Tournament received so much support the first time around that the citizens wanted more – and so did the agencies involved in the tournament. So here we are, Let’s Play Ball!!!”
