Gibson County Habitat for Humanity hosts its 1st annual pumpkin patch

TRENTON, Tenn. — One local county celebrates the grand opening of a new pumpkin patch.

The Gibson County Habitat for Humanity held a special dedication for their 1st annual pumpkin patch. Along with the pumpkins, they also have artwork from 3 area high schools and visitors can vote for which school did the best.

All of the money collected by the votes will be returned to the respective art classes.

“We got together with a company out of North Carolina that actually grew the pumpkins in New Mexico on a Navajo Indian reservation. Since this is our first year they did a demographic study of Trenton. And they told us we’re going to send us approximately 1,000 pumpkins. We didn’t realize it was 1,000 of the big pumpkins and about 2,000 of the small ones. So we have about 3,000 pumpkins out here,” said Gary Paschall, executive director for the Gibson County Habitat for Humanity.

The pumpkin patch is located on 205 south college in Trenton.
