Inaugural ‘Plow Days at Cherry Farms’ offers demonstrations, homemade goodies

HURON, Tenn. — The 1st annual Plow Days at Cherry Farms was held earlier Friday to honor the farming legacy of days gone by.

Attendees were able to experience homesteading demonstrations, such as using horse powered farming equipment and creating brooms sticks from scratch. Homemade goodies and crafts were also available for purchase from artisan vendors.

“It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s a good lifestyle. These skills were almost all but lost and were seeing a resurgence in that coming back which really makes me happy,” said Wendy Cherry, co-owner of Cherry Farms.

A portion of the proceeds will help fund Cherry Farms’ dream of creating a one-room schoolhouse on their farm.
