Friday, we spoke with Jackson-Madison County School Superintendent Dr. Marlon King who shares his reaction to the decision.

“The Jackson Museum School was approved by the state charter commission and that became their LEA [local education agency]. I am the LEA for the 27 I have, and so I want to worry about the 27 I have and let the state charter commission worry about the school that will be joining our district,” said Dr. King.

Jackson Museum School is set to open in Fall of 2026.
